Luke Johnson Ocean Diver
SISAC qualifies another Ocean Diver
Hi, My names Luke, I’m a self employed Plumbing and Heating engineer. (On the left in this Photo).
I’ve always been someone that’s gone through lots of different hobbies, I’ve done Rugby, downhill mountain biking and kite boarding to name just a few.
I have always wanted to get into scuba diving but have never had the spare cash and always assumed as I live in the centre of the country there would be nowhere local to do the training or the dives I was very wrong!
I have always had a passion for the sea and what lives in it. I’ve always been interested in the wildlife of the sea. I have been snorkelling down in Devon with my family since the age of six and have always felt at home in the water.
I have managed to get qualified as a BSAC Ocean Diver which was great, I’m looking to progress onto the sports diver course as soon as I can to expand my knowledge and to be able to dive deeper! After that I would like to aim to become an instructor within the SISAC club to help over like minded people to get in the water and enjoy it!
I found the training to be engaging and fun, there’s a lot to take in but because with BSAC you do it weekly you have the time to properly take in all the information you need and get the proper training in the pool.
I went with SISAC due to location as it’s a club right next to me but I have really enjoyed being part of the club more than I thought I would, Everyone in the club is friendly and good fun and just wants to talk about diving!!
I just cant wait to keep progressing with BSAC and SISAC and be able to start giving something back to the club once I get higher qualifications!
Want to join Luke and experience life underwater?
We meet on Sunday nights at One Leisure St Ives (the St. Ives Recreation Centre), with theory lessons starting at 6:30PM and the pool is available exclusively for our training from 8:15PM. One Leisure St Ives Recreation Centre Westwood Road, St. Ives Cambs. PE27 6WU.
