Photography Award

Photographer Trophy
SISAC Awards and Trophies

The Photography award is the newest branch award, conceived by John Skerry in 2012.

The third of the SISAC Awards and Trophies is the Photography Trophy.

The increase in affordable underwater photography had resulted in a lot of photographs from a variety of members being uploaded to the branch forum. It was felt that the branch should offer an award for the ‘Best picture of the year’.
The award itself is an etching of a diver (provided by Andy Rowe) mounted in a Brass Porthole (provided by Doug Hunter from the wreck of the SS Lanterna). The porthole sits in a teak block. Presented to the winner for the coming year at the Christmas Dinner, it is returned at the end of the year for the next winner.
The award is awarded to the branch member for the best diving photograph of the previous 12 months.
The original judges where Marion Nightingale and the previous years Winner (giving others a chance).

Currently the award is by popular vote by branch members.

The winners, and their pictures are listed in the SISAC Photography Award Winners article.
