SISAC Christmas Party 2017

SISAC Christmas Party 2017the three tuns

SISAC Christmas Party 2017 was held at The Three Tuns in Fen Drayton.

A good turnout of members numbering 21. The evening was arranged and organised by Anna Rudd, I believe all who attended would like to thank her.

The evening’s activities included a very nice 3 course meal. Followed by the judging of the Photo and Video competition and the Christmas/Scuba quiz. Lucky 13 was the quiz winning team!. This was all wrapped up with Member of the Year Award, Diver of the Year Award and a few words from our Chairman Jon Chitty. There were some excellent photographs entered in the competition, our 2017 winners are: in joint third Gareth Leyshon with ‘DSMB diver and boat pickup’ and Jon Chitty with ‘Boat pick up approach’, in second place Jon Chitty with ‘Scappa block ship with Paul Young in the frame’ and in the first place Gareth Leyshon with his photo of a Tompot Blenny. (Do you have a copy of this? Bezz for pics). We also had three entrees for the video section, it was won by Anna Rudd with her seal from the Pembrokeshire trip.

Awards

Our Diver of the Year Award went to Charlie Spencer. She completed her Ocean Diver Certification in a very short time, x months (Bezz will know), which clearly shown her dedication and drive.

Finally, the Member of the Year Award went to Paul Young. Paul has been our Training Officer last year and he has dedicated a great deal of time and effort in organising trainees and instructors to be in the same place at the same time, not always a simple task.

2017 has had its highs and lows but as it draws to a close we all look forward to a safe and active 2018.
