Snorkel diver course February – March 2020

This weekend has seen 3 snorkellers completing the Snorkel diver course in the pool  with their final assessment scenarios, which included instructing their buddy in SEEDS with an exercise that included various type of water entry and exit recovering an object from the bottom of the pool  in different dive techniques, dealing with a cramp and a rescue.

Liz Calvert returned to complete her sessions after a break due to other commitments as an archery coach. Giving her another string to her bow (pun intended).

John and Katie Bavister decided to take the course after a previous holiday experience that they discovered did not provide them confidence in deep water and decided to improve their skills and confidence.

They approached the club through our website, the only one offering the snorkel Diver course that follows the BSAC course syllabus in the area.

After they received their certificates and had their log books signed and endorsed they said they were now confident that they will be safer in the water and enjoy the experience a lot more when on their next holiday

Under normal circumstances we meet on Sunday nights at One Leisure St Ives (the St. Ives Recreation Centre), with theory lessons starting at 6:30PM and the pool is available exclusively for our training from 8:15PM.One Leisure St Ives Recreation Centre Westwood Road, St. Ives Cambs. PE27 6WU.
